Conference members were recently involved with the consultation and planning process to develop a 3 year plan for the Society. This involved meetings as a single unit and with other conference members from throughout the Castlecomer Area Council. The response was then forwarded to the Strategic Planning Group made up of membership from local, Area, Regional and National Council. A 3 year Plan has been published and its implementation is now the work of society members at every level.
It is widely agreed that it is through education that we help people and conferences are encouraged to work towards that objective. Our local conference continues to put its energy and the funds it receives into education.
It strives to highlight social justice issues through the platform of National Council who in turn bring these issues before the government.
It also provides a confidential listening ear to those who may experience difficulty and need a helping hand.
Conference members work hand in hand with other support agencies to provide the necessary supports to its clients. The financial assistance provided by the local community to our monthly collections help us to provide hampers and fuel at Christmas to needy families.
Meetings are held monthly or more frequent if necessary in the sacristy of Clogh Parish Church following 8pm Mass on Saturday nights.
