Mother & Toddler Group
The Mother and toddler group meets once a week on a Wednesday morning for about two hours. The aim of the group is to bring mothers of babies and young children together while providing stimulation for the children.
For women who decide to stay at home with their children it can be lovely, especially if they are new to our area. Such a group gives them an opportunity to meet others from similar situations and exchange experiences, give support and also to access information from the Resource Centre.
As many mothers don't wish to be separated from their small children, the group allows socialisation while the children have the security of their mother's presence. There is a variety of toys for the children to play with and we have a break for juice/tea and biscuits.
The group gives support to stay-at-home mothers, to young children, especially those who are very shy and don't want to venture from their mothers and it fosters a sense of community.
